Cue the Confetti!

Updated: Dec 31, 2021

2022 is almost here... Yet, my heart feels heavy. I'm not in the mood to celebrate because I remember feeling excited and optimistic at the same time last year saying goodbye to crappy 2020 and whole heartedly welcoming 2021... But things didn't turn out the way I had envisioned. I had hopeful wishes that the world would get better and that collective healing would bring back some normalcy into our lives. Instead, Covid brought more isolation, division, discrimination and financial troubles. It has been a precarious year to say the least.

Musicians, you have been some of the hardest hit by the pandemic. You have been praised for your resilience and ability to entertain while not being able to earn a living from your art or at least not the way you used to. You were given a few months to experience the joys of performing again but it is uncertain if the freedom you once took for granted will soon be taken away again in the next few days.

So this year, I'm a little more cautious in how I am visualizing my future because I hate to be disappointed. The pandemic has certainly brought about cataclysmic shifts in my personal and professional life that will find resolve at some point in the New Year. I am at once scared and enthusiastic at the idea that the transition I am in will turn out to enhance my quality of life exponentially. I want to look back at 2021 and think: "It sucked but am I glad it happened!!"

If 2021 made room for a lot of misery, it also carved the way to incredible new opportunities. My top 3 highlights are:

1) Self-care. I am HEALTHY! Covid has nothing on me ;) And so are my family and friends.

2) Singing. I have been blessed with working with MORE clients than EVER before. With a steadily growing vocal coaching practice, I am thrilled to be helping so many singers reach new levels of success. I take pride in being part of my clients' transformation by fully expanding their talent. I know that this brings incredible joy to singers and their surrounding.

3) Love. I am LOVED! I would like to give a special shout out to Daniel, my life partner who always supports me and proofreads all of my blogs! We made tough decisions this year. He has been an amazing source of strength and solace through it all. He is my Rock of Gibraltar.

Now, let's look ahead at 2022. How does it look in terms of singing? What would you like to see happening?

-Improve your breath management?

-Beautify your tone?

-Eliminate your vocal break?

-Sing higher?

-Learn to belt?

-Increase your projection?

-Sing more soulfully?

-Boost your confidence?

-Start performing?

-Widen your audience reach?

The better you are at singing, the more singing you want to do. And the more singing you do, the more taxing bad technique is on your voice.

If it's not yet obvious to you, mastering vocal technique is a solid pillar behind singing success, well-being, and ultimately prosperity. Vocal limitations and fatigue on the other hand, are the real reasons behind a lacking sense of purpose. You think that you're already doing okay? That's all right. But why settle for "okay" when you could be MARVELLOUS? Go from "average" to DAZZLING! Take songs from "challenging" to IMPRESSIVE! Imagine how it would light up your spirit... Warm your heart... Fuel your ambitions...

Change EVERYTHING!

There is no more perfect time than now to change the course of your history. This is the time of year to celebrate where you have been and where you are going. Where you are now is of little importance if you make every next step count.

If your passion is shining a light towards your dreams, the future is looking phenomenal! I am right here holding the key to your success, a champagne glass in hand, nudging you in the right direction.
